I picked this one up right after finishing the first one. I will say this one didn’t hit as hard for me as the first book did. But, I liked the weaving of the packs and the twists and turns the story took. And I am a sucker for a good “chase” 🥵. I felt like I kept waiting for the big thing to happen, and the pacing was the only downfall for me with this one. I am so ready to finish the series and cannot believe I have to wait until 2027!!!! Not fair...

Now that I’m situating after the never-ending fatigue from my new medication, I was able to knock out 4 books in July. My thoughts:
I have always wanted to play The Elder Scrolls games but have never had the time. I went into this a little confused but was able to pick up pretty quickly. That’s really the only downside to reading this. I would definitely say if you can play the games first, you probably will do better with the races and events mentioned in the book. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I did not expect it to be a split duology so I will have to read #2 to get the resolution of the story. But overall it was a great read!

I really enjoyed this story. I actually like Jordan and Jaxon more than I liked Sutton and Cooper. I am a sucker for the brother’s best friend trope and this one did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the way Hannah wrote the push-pull momentum in this relationship. I absolutely binge read her books every time. She has a way of sucking me into the story and I cannot stop. Yet another 3 am realization that I was not getting sleep to finish this one!!

My thoughts:
This is my first Sanderson book and it is such an immersive read. I really enjoyed the concept and characters of this story. I will definitely be reading more of his books!

I will say that I was not prepared for the level of world building that I have heard Sanderson is good at doing. It wasn’t overly thrust at me but there were times that I realized I definitely needed to be able to pay attention while reading this one for sure!!

I will say that I was not prepared for the level of world building that I have heard Sanderson is good at doing. It wasn’t overly thrust at me but there were times that I realized I definitely needed to be able to pay attention while reading this one for sure!!

This has always been my favorite book of the series but listening to the full cast version made it so much better. I forgot a lot of the smaller details in this book and forgot how Harry’s emotions were so strong through this whole book. And I love the amount of character growth seen in all these characters at this point. The humor pointed towards Umbridge from many of the characters is the only thing that keeps me from stroking out when she speaks. LOL.

Do I think all of her decisions were good, no. But do I understand why she felt like she needed to make them, yes. It’s an extremely sad story. I waited so long to read it because I heard that she had a tacky delivery of the things that happened but after reading it, I don’t agree with it at all. She takes accountability for her actions throughout it while telling what she felt others did at the same time. To me that takes courage to do.
